Nothing makes you trust a printer less than walking over to your Centauri Carbon and realizing the whole thing is just frozen. Maybe the screen isn't responding, the printhead stopped moving, or it simply seems like the printer decided it was done for the day.
The first thing I'd pay attention to is exactly what freezes. If the touchscreen locks up but the printer keeps printing, that's a completely different problem than the entire machine stopping in the middle of a print. Before restarting anything, give it a minute and see if the printer starts responding again.
If the whole printer freezes during a print, I'd take a picture of the screen before touching anything. Look for an error message, temperature warning, or anything else unusual. Even if the message doesn't make much sense right now, having a picture of it can be really useful later.
I'd also try another print. Re-slice your model and send a fresh file to the printer. If the Centauri Carbon freezes at almost exactly the same layer every time, there's a decent chance something about that particular file is causing the problem. If completely different models freeze at random points, I'd start looking more closely at the printer itself.
A full restart is also worth trying, especially if this is the first time it's happened. Shut the printer down normally, give it a little bit, power it back up, and run a smaller test print. Sometimes electronics just do weird stuff, and I wouldn't start tearing the machine apart because of one random freeze.
I'd also think about anything you changed recently. If the freezing started right after a firmware update, slicer change, or some other adjustment, that's worth paying attention to. Problems are a lot easier to track down when you can connect them to something that recently changed.
Power is another thing people tend to overlook. Make sure the power cable is seated properly and the outlet isn't giving you problems. If you have other electronics acting weird on the same circuit, I'd definitely rule that out too.
Where I'd start getting concerned is if the Centauri Carbon keeps freezing on completely different prints. At that point, start keeping track of when it happens, how long the printer had been running, what material you were using, and what the screen was showing. A quick video can help too.
One random freeze could just be a glitch. Multiple freezes across different prints are something I'd actually troubleshoot. The more you can narrow down exactly when and how it happens, the easier it'll be to figure out whether you're dealing with a bad file, software problem, power issue, or something going on with the printer itself.
