If you updated your Elegoo Centauri Carbon and suddenly started having problems, you can downgrade the Centauri Carbon firmware to an older version.
I've seen enough weird issues pop up after firmware updates that I personally wouldn't be afraid to roll back if the printer was working perfectly before the update.
How to Downgrade Centauri Carbon Firmware
The basic process is pretty simple.
Download the older Centauri Carbon firmware you want and rename the firmware file to:
update.bin
Put update.bin directly on the root of a FAT32-formatted USB drive, insert the USB drive into the Centauri Carbon, and restart the printer. The printer should recognize the firmware file and give you the option to install it.

Which Firmware Should You Downgrade To?
I'd go back to whichever firmware version you remember working well on your printer.
The OpenCentauri archive currently includes several older versions, including 1.1.25, 1.1.29, 1.1.40, 1.1.42, 1.4.44 and newer releases.
There are also real examples of firmware-specific problems being fixed simply by rolling back. For example, an issue reported on Elegoo's GitHub describes the filament loader running backward on firmware 1.1.46, while reverting to 1.1.25 fixed the problem.
What If the Downgrade Doesn't Work?
A factory reset doesn't downgrade the firmware. You need to actually install the older firmware.
Also, firmware behavior has changed between versions, so some releases may make downgrading more difficult. I wouldn't force anything if the printer refuses the firmware file. At that point I'd check the OpenCentauri documentation for your exact firmware version before going any further.
Overall, if your Centauri Carbon started acting weird immediately after a firmware update, downgrading is definitely something I'd try before assuming you have a hardware problem.
