Doing a Centauri Carbon nozzle swap is actually pretty simple. Whether your nozzle is clogged, worn out, or you just want to try a different size, the Elegoo Centauri Carbon makes swapping nozzles pretty easy.
What Nozzle Does the Centauri Carbon Use?
The Centauri Carbon comes standard with a 0.4mm nozzle, which is what I'd recommend for most people. You can also go smaller for more detail or larger if you want to speed up bigger prints. Here is a link to actual Elegoo nozzle on Amazon.
How to Swap the Centauri Carbon Nozzle
First, unload your filament and let the hotend cool down.
Remove the magnetic printhead cover to get access to the hotend. From there, you can remove the existing nozzle and replace it with your new one.
You can also replace the entire hotend assembly if you're dealing with a really bad clog, but for a normal nozzle replacement, I don't think that's necessary.
Cheap Amazon Nozzles Actually Work
You also don't necessarily need to buy the expensive official replacement nozzles.
I've actually had good luck with cheap Centauri Carbon nozzles from Amazon. There are quite a few aftermarket options available, and the ones I've tried have worked just fine.
Just make sure the listing specifically says it's compatible with the Elegoo Centauri Carbon. I usually like buying a small pack because then I have a few extras sitting around when I eventually get a clog or wear one out.
Don't Forget Your Slicer
If you're replacing a 0.4mm nozzle with another 0.4mm nozzle, you shouldn't have to change much.
If you switch to something like a 0.6mm nozzle, make sure you change the nozzle size or printer profile in your slicer as well.
For most people, I'd stick with 0.4mm. Overall, the Centauri Carbon nozzle swap is pretty easy, and having a few cheap replacement nozzles sitting around makes it even easier.
