There's nothing more annoying than checking on a print that's been running for hours and realizing your Centauri Carbon just stopped mid print. The first thing I'd do is leave everything exactly where it is for a minute. Don't immediately pull the print off the bed because depending on what happened, you might actually be able to resume it.
I'd start with the obvious stuff. Check the screen and see if there's an error message, make sure the printer still has power, and check whether the filament ran out or got jammed. I've had plenty of 3D printer problems that looked serious at first and ended up being something really simple.
If the printer completely shut off and restarted, I'd start thinking about power. A loose power cable, tripped outlet, power flicker, or brief outage can stop a print instantly. If this keeps happening randomly, I'd definitely try another outlet and make sure the power cord is firmly connected before blaming the printer itself.
Filament is another easy one to check. Make sure it didn't break somewhere inside the PTFE tube or get stuck in the extruder. Sometimes the printer can appear to have stopped printing when the actual problem is that filament simply isn't making it through the hotend anymore.
I'd also pay attention to whether the screen is frozen or the printer still responds to controls. If everything is powered on but nothing responds, restarting the machine may be your only option. Before doing that, take a picture of the screen and write down any error code you see. That information can be really helpful if the problem happens again.
The print file itself is worth considering too, especially if the Centauri Carbon stops at almost the exact same spot every time you try that model. Re-slice the model and send a fresh copy to the printer. I'd even try a completely different model afterward. If another file prints normally, you've narrowed things down quite a bit.
Heat can also cause weird behavior on electronics, so pay attention to whether this only happens during really long prints. Make sure the printer's vents aren't blocked and that you haven't accidentally positioned something around the machine that's restricting airflow.
The biggest clue is whether this was a one-time problem or keeps happening. One random stopped print could be a power hiccup, bad file, filament problem, or just a weird glitch. If your Centauri Carbon keeps stopping mid print on completely different models, that's when I'd start taking it more seriously and looking at power, connections, temperatures, error codes, and the printer's electronics.
And whatever you do, don't pull that half-finished print off the bed until you know the printer can't recover it. I've definitely learned that lesson the hard way with 3D printers.
