Having the Centauri Carbon keep pausing in the middle of a print can be really confusing because sometimes nothing actually looks wrong. The printer just stops, sits there, and you're left wondering whether you should wait, hit something on the screen, or cancel the whole print.
The first thing I'd do is look closely at the screen when it happens. There may be a warning or message that's easy to overlook. Filament detection, a temperature issue, or another sensor can cause the printer to pause because it thinks something needs your attention.
I'd also check the filament itself. Make sure the spool is actually turning freely and the filament isn't tangled or getting hung up somewhere. Follow the filament all the way through the PTFE tube and make sure there isn't a broken piece or anything creating resistance. If the printer thinks there's a filament problem, that could explain the random pauses.
Another thing I'd pay attention to is whether it pauses at the same exact point every time. If you restart the print and it pauses at basically the same layer again, I'd start wondering about the sliced file instead of the printer. Re-slice the model, send a fresh copy to the Centauri Carbon, and see what happens. I'd also try printing a completely different model as a quick test.
If the pauses seem completely random across different prints, I'd start checking other things. Make sure your firmware is up to date, restart the printer, and check all the basic connections around the machine. I'd also make sure the printer has plenty of ventilation and isn't doing something weird after running for several hours.
It's also worth thinking about anything you recently changed. Did the problem start after changing filament? Updating firmware? Changing slicer settings? Installing a new part? Sometimes working backward from when the problem started is way easier than randomly changing a bunch of settings.
One thing I wouldn't do is immediately start tearing apart the printer. Try another model, re-slice the file, check the filament path, and pay attention to exactly what the screen says when the pause happens.
If your Centauri Carbon keeps pausing on multiple completely different prints and there's no obvious filament or file issue, I'd start documenting it. Take a picture of the screen and even record a quick video when it happens. That makes troubleshooting the problem a whole lot easier than trying to remember exactly what the printer was doing afterward.
